Housed in the 16th Century Palacio de Piedras Albas, set just inside the magnificent 12-century Walls of Ávila which enclose the palace’s garden to one side. This elegant 4-star Parador is the ideal base to discover the historic charms of the city. Rooms are spacious and traditionally decorated in keeping with the buildings, with tiled floors, Castilian furnishings, desk and chairs. Upgraded rooms have a sitting area with a sofa. The suites feature a whirlpool tub, 4-poster bed and views of the garden. Facilities include a renowned restaurant, a delightful terrace which gives on to the garden and meeting space.

The hotel’s Piedras Albas restaurant specialises in local dishes including the famous beef and lamb as well as beans from Barco de Ávila at the foot of the Sierra de Gredos. No visit would be complete without trying the Yemas de Santa Teresa – a sweet treat dedicated to the city’s most famous daughter.
There’s also a bar/café serving drinks and snacks which can be enjoyed on the terrace (seasonal).
