This magnificent historical hotel occupies a privileged location right beside the Cathedral of Santiago in the Obradoiro Square. Originally built as a royal hospital in 1499 to accommodate pilgrims travelling to Santiago and considered the oldest hotel in Spain, it has now been converted into a luxurious 5-star Parador. Behind the Plateresque facade you will discover four beautiful cloisters, elegant rooms and a luxurious dining room and a museum with more than 140 works by artists including Martinez Novillo, Álvaro Delgado and Menchu Gal. A stay here means a visit to a truly unique and exclusive location.
Suites, junior suites and some superior rooms are housed in the the original palace whilst standard twin / double rooms are in a newer section to the rear.Decor is traditional Galician, with dark furniture and comfortable chairs in keeping with the historic building. Some rooms have canopied beds.All rooms are en-suite with marble-clad bathrooms with shower-over-bath.Some rooms are available for guests with limited mobility.
