Hospes Palacio de los Patos is a truly unique, 5-star hotel that combines two buildings, each with its own distinct style.
The original Palacio de los Patos is a magnificent, 19th-century sugar magnate's palace that has been carefully restored to preserve its classical architecture, while incorporating contemporary interior design. The Alabaster Building, on the other hand, features modern, tastefully-minimalist decor with glass and alabaster elements.
The hotel boasts Arab gardens, in pergolas between the two buildings, that bring to mind the beauty of those at the Alhambra. In the hotel, you can also enjoy a variety of treatments at the Bodyna SPA or indulge in a wet circuit.
Centrally situated in a shopping district, not far from the Cathedral, the hotel offers relatively easy access by car and good communications. It is just a fifteen-minute drive away from the Alhambra.
There are 42 rooms divided into the two buildings, with five different types of rooms available: Dreamers, Deluxe, Junior Suite, Presidential, and Grand Presidential.

Come for the Alhambra, stay for the tapas… Granada, the last Spanish city to fall to the Catholic Reconquista and dominated by the truly splendid Alhambra Palace is unmissable part of any tour of Moorish Spain but even without that it’s a wonderful city to visit. One of Spain’s most important university towns and still today a cultural melting-pot with large Muslim and Gypsy communities, here you’ll find lively bars with amazing free tapas, street stalls selling African wares and authentic flamenco shows. The star of the show is of course the Alhambra Palace built by the Nasrid Sultans in the 11th century and still breathtakingly beautiful today. Allow half a day for the walking tour and another hour to watch the sun go down on the palace from the Mirador de San Nicolás in the gypsy neighbourhood of Albaicin. The Cathedral houses the Royal Chapel with the tombs of the Catholic Kings, Ferdinand and Isabel and sits at the heart of the Old Town where, as well as tapas bars, there are many north African restaurants, shops and stalls and from there it’s a nice (uphill!) walk to the Albaicin for flamenco shows and that view of the Alhambra with the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop.
