The manor, an 18th century building, once owned by Benito's great grandfather is situated within 5 minutes (6kms) from the old town of Ourense along one of the most important Jacobean ways to Santiago. Also near here one can find the Oseira monastery where the writer Graham Greene used to rest every summer. It is less than an hour from the Rias Baixas beaches and the historic city of Santiago de Compostela. The hotel is an ideal starting point for visiting the "Ribeira Sacra" with all its vineyards and numerous Romanesque monasteries and churches. The fascinating towns of Allariz (where "The Tongue of the Butterflies" was filmed) and Ribadavia with its old Jewish quarter are not far away. It is set in a medieval village, surrounded by a 20,000m2 country estate and conserves many original architectural elements from its noble past. Lovingly and invitingly decorated and furnished with some antiques, you will feel more than comfortable here. In its lovely grounds there is a swimming pool and tennis court and local activities include horse-riding, golf, canoeing, walking and a Catamaran trip through the Ribeira Sacra gorge. There is a good country restaurant within walking distance.
