HVIV1, San Roman del Valle, North Spain
Just a short walk from the lovely sandy beach of Playa de San Roman, on the Costa Lucense in northern Galicia, this handsome, traditional, country house, built in 1904 and restored at the beginning of this century, is now a delightful, small hotel.
Set in its own, well maintained, extensive grounds, it is backed by woods and surrounded by lush countryside which leads down to the sea. With just six bedrooms, it has a real homely feel, with its stone walls and beamed ceilings and classic decoration and antique furniture, adding to the cosy atmosphere.
Host, Alfredo, a dedicated cook, serves delicious meals using locally sourced produce and he and his friendly staff do their very best to make you feel at home.
It is great for those seeking peace and quiet, yet within a ten minute drive you have all the facilities you need at either lively Viveiro or smaller O Vicedo in the other direction. For day trips Santiago de Compostela, A Coru?a and Lugo are all within easy reach. A perfect place for a seaside holiday with plenty of culture.
There are six comfortable double and twin bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. With stone walls and beamed ceilings,they are decorated and furnished in a classic, traditional style. The rooms have T.V. and views of the surrounding countryside.

A delicious breakfast with locally sourced produce (free range eggs included) is served in the dining room.
Lunch and dinner are also available in the dining room. The restaurant is open to the public.
Traditional Galician cooking, including roast lamb, pork and chicken, cooked in a wood fired oven.
The owner can advise on other restaurants in the surrounding area. There is a bar/restaurant on the beach and another in the village.
Not a village really, but the name given to a scattering of houses just up from the coast and the lovely sandy beach of Playa San Roman with a bar/restaurant.
On the Costa Lucence, it is 8 kms from the town/port of Viveiro with most facilities and 4 kms. from O' Vicedo which has a few shops.
