Set in the municipality of Cervantes and the little known region of Los Ancares (a natural park) with its incomparable valleys and mountains - an area of legends, magic and natural beauty, this is a very special small hotel, its owners having a connection with Miguel de Cervantes, the writer of Don Quijote de la Mancha. They belong to one of the oldest and most influential families in Galicia. Built in the 16th century with changes up until the 19th century, it was recently restored in 2005, maintaining its ancient and elegant features in achitecture, decoration and furnishings combined with our requirements in this modern way of life. The hotel is in the small village of San Rom?n de Cervantes, yet is only 12 kms away from the motorway between Ponferrada and Lugo and the Camino de Santiago is close by at O Cebreiro and Triscatela. The house is surrounded by a high wall, has a pretty garden and patios and if you are lucky enough to meet the owner and historian, Tito, you could spend many happy hours conversing about the past and present with him sitting in the porch under the balcony. Local activities include walking (31 signposted routes), fishing, hunting and cultural routes.

There are five bedrooms, four of them are double and one is single. One of the rooms which is on the ground floor is prepared for disabled use. All are en-suite and have television, telephone and central heating. They are very tastefully furnished with antiques. There are several sitting areas (one with a fireplace), a library and a dining room.
