From the awe-inspiring mountains of the Picos de Europa to the remote wilds of the Western Highlands where bears, deer and wild cats roam free, Asturias is truly a nature-lover’s delight.

Here the mountains come right down to the dramatic, unspoilt coastline with quaint fishing villages, cliff-top walks and a smorgasbord of picture-postcard beaches to suit every taste.  This marriage of sea and mountains, combined with a deep respect for traditional ways, is reflected in the local cuisine where hearty bean stews and meat dishes sit alongside seafood delicacies and can be enjoyed with delicious local cider or the amazing, little-known wines of Cangas del Narcea.

Run through by the Camino de Santiago, and at one time the last bastion of Christianity in the peninsular, Asturias has an immense heritage with a wealth of vestiges from pre-historic, Celtic and Roman times as well as its famous collection of pre-Romanesque churches.

  • Tour Highlights:
  • Magnificent Picos de Europa National Park
  • Oviedo with its pre-romanesque architecture
  • Dinosaur coast – Jurassic Museum & fossil footprints
  • Rugged unspoilt coastline – beaches to suit all tastes
  • Bear spotting in the wild Western Highlands
  • Delicious Asturian cider, wonderful wines in the west
