Born in colonial Hong Kong in the mid nineteen fifties, Catherine developed a desire for travel and adventure at an early age. Spain beckoned when she was just fifteen and a visit to the Prado Museum in Madrid sparked off a long- term love affair with a country where she found many similarities to the Far East she had sadly left behind.
A freelance cook and teacher, she married a Spaniard who introduced her to the delights of the then, little known Cantabria in the north. Sharing their enthusiasm for this magical region with family members, they together launched what is now Caminos by Casas Cantabricas.
Though now taking more of a back-seat, she won’t hesitate to get on the road to explore and and develop those fascinating and special hidden corners in the Iberian peninsula to continue to offer the very best to our clients.
