One of the principal historic cities of northern Spain and inland Spain and an important stop along the famous pilgrimage route of the Camino de Santiago, León is a fascinating destination known for its rich heritage, lively old quarter and remarkable monuments.
Since 2025, the city has had a Low Emission Zone in place, although it is only activated when pollution levels rise. As much of this area is also pedestrianised, we recommend following the guidance as if the LEZ were always active. Here’s everything you need to know when planning a visit to León.
Find out how the León Low Emission Zone (LEZ) rules effect UK registered cars, classic cars, motorbikes as well as Spanish rental cars.
