Overview

A one-way tour of Catalonia and the Mediterranean makes use of the many flights to Girona and Reus. You can also follow this varied itinerary as a circular tour from any of the three Catalan airports.

Tour Highlights
  • Fine wines and scenery of Priorat, Empordá and Penedés

  • World-class bird watching (and paella) in the Delta del Ebro

  • Unique cultures & architectural styles

  • 3000m mountains of the Catalan Pyrenees

  • Stunning beaches and coastal walks on the Costa Brava

  • Romanesque churches in Vall de Boí and Val d'Aran

  • La Garrotxa Volcanic Park and its peculiar cuisine

  • Mediterranean diet, climate and pace of life!

The tour begins and ends at the Mediterranean coast. It includes the high Pyrenees, the Volcanic Park of La Garrotxa, and the Nature Park of the Delta de Ebro. You will also have a chance to visit historic Lleida.

From start to finish you’ll find excellent hiking, wonderful regional gastronomy and an immensely rich heritage. One day you are watching flamingos in the Ebro Delta’s rice fields, and the next hiking in the Pyrenees as vultures glide above

And how better to finish off than with a few days R&R by the azure waters of the Costa Brava…

Getting There

Catalonia is extremely well served with flights from most UK airports to Barcelona, Girona (Costa Brava / Pyrenees) and Reus (Costa Dorada / Tarragona).

A point-to-point itinerary, this route is best enjoyed flying into the Costa Dorada and back from the Costa Brava – or vice versa. See your flight options in the table below:

If your preferred local airport only connects to one of the airports at the destination, the route can be adapted to suit a single port of entry and return, interleaving the stages. Please contact us for more details.

PLEASE NOTE Flights are not included and some flights are seasonal.

Flight Options

Choose your preferred UK airport and then select from possible destinations to see airline providers.

Getting Around

For passengers travelling by air we will include a hire car as part of the package. Normally we include a 4 door economy class car but please let us know if you would like something different.

For those coming on the ferry you will use your own vehicle but in either case we will provide full instructions to arrive at each hotel, complete with GPS, as well as a map of the area.
